I am posting an easy cake vanilla cake recipe which is baked in pressure cooker, yeah, no need of ovan and also it is not a compromised taste. It is a super tasty cake which can be cooked in pressure cooker.

Preparation for Pressure Cooker cake Recipe

  1. Maida (All purpose flour) : 1 cup
  2. Salt : 1 pinch
  3. Sugar : 1/2 cup
  4. Egg : 1
  5. Butter : 1/2 cup
  6. Baking powder : 1 tsp
  7. Vanilla Essence : 1 tsp
  8. Milk : 1/4 cup

How to Make Pressure Cooker Cake

In a mixing bowl, sieve maida and baking powder. Add salt and mix well all 3 ingredients.

Now in a seprate bowl, add sugar and butter. Beat it for a while and then break one egg in it. Now whip it with a beater until all 3 ingredients come together. Do not make it too fluffy.

Now add vanilla essence in it and mix well.

Now pour this mix in the maida flour and keep folding in one direction else it may form lumps. Add milk to make a dropping consistency batter. Do not make the batter too liquid.

Now take an aluminium pan and grease it with butter. Sprinkle a little maida flour to dust it thoroughly.

Now pour the cake batter in the aluminium pan.

Heat pressure cooker on low flames and keep a stand in it. now place the aluminium pan on it and remove the weight from lid of pressure cooker. Also remove the rubber ring from the cooker.

Place the lid on the cooker and keep the flames low. Bake for 30 minutes on low flames only.

After 30 minutes, open the lid and insert a knife in cake till bottom, if it comes out clean, means that the cake is cooked.

Open the lid now and keep the aluminium vessel out of the pressure cooker. When the cake is on room temperature, take it out of the vessel.

Decorate the cake and refrgerate it for 2 hours

If you do not want to use cooker, you can use a kadhai instead. Place a stand in it and keep the aluminium vessel filled with batter in it and cover it with a plate or lid so that the heat does not come out. Bake it for 30 minutes on low flames.
